Rumpled Landscapes of the Coastal Hills and Valleys on exhibit in National Watercolor Society Invitational Plein Air Painting Exhibition at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center, Fullerton Ca

I am very pleased to share that the National Watercolor Society invited me.
We got to select a group of paintings with a theme. My theme is the lovely rumpled landscapes of the hills and valleys of the coastal ranges of Northern California including Mount Diablo, Carmel Valley and Marin County.

Here are some of the  paintings that will be on display:

After the Fire 10 14 x 14

Where they ride horses 16 x 12 Best Watercolor Carmel Art Festival 2015

Mount Diablo Northern View 14 x 14

Marin Oaks 10 x 12  Sonoma Plein Air 2015

I wanted to display works most fully realized on location and that led me to elect several  from recent plein air events.
My co exhibitors include Mike Bailey, Frank Eber, Dale Laitinen, Carolyn Lord, Mark Mehaffey, Dean Mitchell, Michael Reardon, Thomas Schaller and David Teter.

About the Muckenthaler Cultural Center:

A Legacy of Excellence

Commissioned at an original cost of $35,000, the Muckenthaler home was built by Walter and Adella Muckenthaler in 1924 atop a hill in Fullerton. The 18-room, 8.5-acres mansion was donated to the city in 1965 by Harold Muckenthaler, who wished to see his childhood home used as a cultural center for the public.
In 1999, the Muckenthaler received designation by the National Register of Historic Places. In its 51st year, the Muck produces more than 60 performances, gallery exhibits, festivals and special events; and more than 6,000 hours of arts education classes at the Muck and in 42 outreach sites serving more than 43,000 people every year.
