At Lake Calavera in 7th Lpapa Waterworks Exhibit

 At Lake Calavera 12 x 16 Plein air watercolor will be on exhibit online and at the Lpapa gallery in Laguna Beach. 

The vegetation on this hill got so lush and beautiful with all the rain we had last winter. It was a pleasure to be able to wax this one , the process seemed to make the colors richer.

Painted with Lpapa at the Casa Romantica in San Clemente on a perfect afternoon. The gardens were so lush and beautiful. I felt like I was in a technicolor movie.

“White-Hot” high key desert Plein air

 This is the Santa Rosas in full on sun in Borrego Springs. I wanted to try a high key image and work with a very light value range. The foreground is empty because I want the mountains to float as if they are a shimmering mirage in the distance. The painting in person ha a wonderful glow I can’t get with my camera.

"Painted Mountain" has been accepted into the 53rd Annual National Exhibition of the California Watercolor Association.

Gary Tucker has selected 85 paintings to be exhibited at the Harrington Gallery in Pleasanton. There were many fine paintings submitted, and he told us how difficult his decisions were to select 85 from the 370 submissions that we received.
